Day 2 Butthurt, Jetlagged, Full

Today I flew from Bangkok to Chiang Mai, and for some reason my butt is so sore I can barely sit down. Man I wish I had the money for first class flights, These budget seats for long flights are a literal pain in the ass.

Traveling always presents unique challenges and obstacles especially in foreign countries with different standards and customs. Things like Esim cards just not holding the carrier so your phone is constantly cycling between 5G and no service which drains your phone battery so fast it leaves you stranded without any idea how to get back to your hotel, or bike rental shops with written contracts that don’t actually mean anything because the business owner decided to change their rental policy and only except passports and not ID cards or an exuberant amount of money. or walking all around an area trying to rent a bike big enough to drive into the mountains and having literally no luck. I went to 6 rental shops and couldn’t get a bike. Better luck tomorrow I guess.

I am 10/10 jetlagged today and there is no other comparable feeling other than waking up on day 3 of a big festival at 9am after going to bed at 5. Its like doing life on Hardcore mode. For some reason this is one of my favorite feelings, my brain and body are both in different time zones and its a struggle. I always seem to grow from these moments when everything kinda sucks but your also there to explore & have fun so you figure it out and make the best of it.

As this is my second time here in Chiang Mai, I know some of the dope spots to go eat and I went to one of my favorites today as soon as I got checked in. Maybe its because I’ve been starving every time I’ve eating at Coconut Thai Food, but the food is always unreal and tonight did not disappoint. Green curry and rice with spring rolls and a pineapple shake….. like damn, I love the food in Thailand.

Thailand can be such a random place sometimes you never know what your gonna see. Like this 8 year old girl playing system of a down on the drums

To finish off my day I tried to go to a popular restaurant called Kats but the line was too busy so I ended up going back to Coconut Thai Food and that spot did not disappoint again. The restaurant was so busy I got seated in the staff eating area behind the restaurant, which I thought was hilarious

My private dining terrace
Drunken noodle and Thai Omelet (arguably the best omelet you’ll ever have)

Khao Soi (I obviously overate this meal) it was worth it

People long to escape life’s struggles, and relax in country houses, by the seaside, or in the mountains. But it is within your power to find solace at any time, by retreating into yourself. When your thoughts are orderly and tranquil, there’s no place quieter and more peaceful than your own soul. There, you are free.
